MCC is thrilled to partner with The Raw Carrot and Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church to open a gourmet soup-making enterprise in Kitchener, Ontario.
The Raw Carrot is a social franchise that believes that every person who WANTS to work should have the opportunity for a Hand Up (instead of just a handout) in life! We partner with churches and nonprofits across Ontario to create meaningful employment for amazingly talented individuals living with disAbilities and mental illness. We’re “stirring up” change in local communities through our delicious, handcrafted gourmet soup. Together, we are “Peeling for Change.” MCC - Relief, development, and peace in the name of Christ! https://mcccanada.ca/learn/more/raw-carrot-soup-enterprise MCC has been present since 1949, initially assisting Palestinian refugees from the War of 1948 with physical needs. Through the years, MCC has accepted invitations from Palestinians to walk alongside them as they search for justice, peace, and freedom. MCC has worked with Israeli partners since Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip in 1967. MCC supports the efforts of both Palestinians and Israelis committed to nonviolence and to a future of peace, justice, and reconciliation for both peoples.
