Ongoing conflict has left over 90% of Syria’s population living below the poverty line. One in three people face food insecurity. MCC partners are providing food and other immediate relief, and working with the Syrian people to build a peaceful future.
We ask you to join us as we continue praying and working for peace in Syria. https://mcc.org/what-we-do/where-we-work/syria MCC – Relief, development, and peace in the name of Christ "Our well is a blessing,” says Molita Nacuduzi, a participant in an MCC supported clean drinking water project in Chitongo, Mozambique.
With this new well, the women and children of the community no longer have to make treks to the Zambezi river to collect water. The task was often dangerous as many people, mostly children, lost their lives to crocodiles in the river while collecting water. The water was also dirty and many people got sick. “It is good for us all, [especially] for us girls who used to make that long and dangerous walk each day,” shares Molita. This well now provides clean water to over 300 families in the community. Thank you for making a difference. But it should be. The military has overthrown the first democratic government in decades. Homes, fields, and villages are burning. Children and families have fled to the jungles. And humanitarian relief workers are being thrown in prison. And as people of faith, we don’t want anyone to feel forsaken.
This Easter, we can reach out to families caught in conflict and let them know they haven’t been forgotten. You can support MCC by your offering. If by cash or cheque, designate the envelope/memo line “MCC Myanmar”. By e-transfer, enter “MCC Myanmar” in the message box.
