Looking for a Knitting or Crochet Project? Why not help with the RED Scarf and Toque Project?10/22/2024 Positive Living Niagara welcomes donations of these. During HIV/AIDS Awareness Week in November, the toques and scarves are hung from lamp posts and trees in the Queenston Neighbourhood of St. Catharines. A tag attached to the scarves provides information about HIV and encourages people – especially the homeless - to take the toque and scarf to keep warm and share the information with others.
Or, if you are THRIFTING and see a red toque or scarf… HIV/AIDS doesn’t discriminate. It affects women and men, people of all ages, and individuals from every ethnicity and skin color. If you’d like to knit or crochet for this event, please contact us! They need to be RED. Ideally, the scarves at 5” wide by 5’ long. The toques? Any fashion you’d like! Positive Living can provide the yarn required. We’d like them by mid November. Contact Chris Allan, Volunteer Coordinator, at [email protected] or 905-984-8684 x 134
